A WORKSHOP FOR EARTH DAY: THE 'LE MAGNOLIE' NURSING HOME IN SETTIMO VITTONE TELLS GUESTS THE STORY OF MEDICINAL PLANTS

This is the new weekly appointment for the senior citizens' residence '' in Settimo Vittone: the facility's entertainment staff have come up with a small course on medicinal herbs, which have always been present in the lives and gardens of many guests.

On the occasion of the arrival of 22 April, Earth Day, the history of herbs and medicinal plants, used by man since the dawn of civilisation, will be explored, starting, for example, with their use by the ancient Egyptians.

At the end of the readings, there is a part of direct experience of the properties of these herbs: an infusion is prepared to be smelled or sipped, as desired.

"It's a bit like going back to school. The idea of the workshop is to study together a very important part of the Earth system: plants. For our senior citizens, exercising the mind is important; you never stop learning. Thanks to the original ideas of our highly trained staff, we give our guests new insights into planet Earth and the organisms that inhabit it,' says residence director Ornella Maria Anzola.
