RSA 'SAN GIORGIO' IN MARCON: 'LET'S DISCOVER THE CITY' TOGETHER WITH OUR GUESTS

"Let's discover the city' is the title of the new educational project devised by the 'San Giorgio' residence for the elderly in Marcon. The value of daily activities is at the centre of this initiative organised by Dr. Cristina Patella and Dr. Gilda Luongo, educators at the facility.

The guests strolled through the town of Marcon and then reached the town market, where they were able to shop and stop at the café for breakfast. The project stems from the idea that even the simplest activities, such as attending the market, allow one to remain active and energetic.

"It is important to make everyday life rich with moments in which our residents can receive stimulation from the outside world. Educational and rehabilitative activities, such as the ones we perform, help the elderly connect with the community they live in and enable them to activate their muscular and cardiovascular systems, a small effort from which derive important benefits not only for the body, but also for the spirit," says the facility's director Danijela Filkovska.

"Re-emphasising the importance of daily activities has become an increasingly common practice in the drafting of educational projects for our nursing home residents. These are healthy habits that the elderly can regain in their daily lives in order to better cope with physical changes. due to age' - adds Mario Modolo, general director of Sereni Orizzonti.
