The senior citizens' residence "Villa Abbadia" in Fiesco is located in a former Salesian institute, which has been completely renovated and converted into an RSA for partially or completely non-self-sufficient guests.
Surrounded by a large wooded park that can be entirely covered on foot or with wheelchairs and walkers, and with a large internal car park, this facility has 80 beds (half of which have already been applied for accreditation) distributed over three floors, plus a basement that houses the essential services (kitchens, laundry and storage rooms) and a large gym set up for rehabilitation activities and gentle gymnastics.
Almost all the rooms are single, spacious and bright, comfortably furnished and each equipped with a television set and its own bathroom, to accommodate the limited mobility of guests. The RSA "Villa Abbadia" also has three double rooms: an ideal solution for couples wishing to stay there even for short periods. An oxygen supply device has been installed in each room for guests who need it.
The former Salesian institute also has many communal rooms: a large hall, rooms for socialising, workshops for recreational and creative activities and cognitive stimulation, a dining area and a place of worship in the former chapel.
A highly qualified multidisciplinary team ensures that guests receive adequate medical, nursing and rehabilitation care, also thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technological equipment in the health and welfare field. Among the services available are personal care services (hairdresser and podiatrist) and the possibility of personalised diets.
