Managed by 3A Milano, the new Borgo Ticino nursing home consists of four units with a total of 80 beds on three floors. The building has an "H"-shaped floor plan where the central sleeve houses the common areas on the various floors, while the side sleeves house the living areas on the upper floors and the general and collective areas on the ground floor.
The residence, designed by architect Silvia Bracco, is a three-storey, H-shaped building above ground level, distributed over four separate cores with access control to monitor the movements of residents with dementia. On the ground floor are the reception, administrative offices, a gymnasium for rehabilitation, laundry and changing rooms for staff, an outpatient clinic, a room for personal services, a kitchen for preparing meals, a multi-purpose hall for recreational activities and a room for worship. On both the first and second floors, there is a dining room and living room, guest toilets and two living quarters with 20 beds, each divided into 2 single rooms and 9 double rooms. The building also has two entrances: one for visitors and one for service guests.
The facility is officially open from May 2023.
