This RSA, the first in the entire province, can accommodate up to 40 dependent persons.
The newly constructed building is two levels above ground and 'C'-shaped. On the ground floor are the reception and administrative offices, the laundry and changing rooms for staff, a gymnasium for rehabilitation, an outpatient clinic for nursing examinations and medication, a room for personal services (podiatrist, barber and hairdresser), a kitchen for preparing meals, a multi-purpose hall for recreational activities and a room for worship. On the first floor there are two residential units (a total of 18 double rooms and 4 single rooms) equipped with access control to monitor the movements of dementia patients. In addition to these are dining rooms, living rooms, reception rooms with TV, assisted bathrooms with shower stretcher or shower chair and guest toilets.
The rooms are very spacious and bright, each equipped with its own bathroom for the disabled, as well as motorised beds, shutters with domotic blinds, call system and fire sensors. The rooms are equipped with controlled mechanical ventilation (VMC), which allows a change of clean, dry air without having to open the windows but recovering the heat that is expelled from the air. Air conditioning has been designed to offer guests maximum comfort and safety: winter air conditioning will be provided by an underfloor heating system (and therefore without radiators) while summer air conditioning will be provided by an innovative system that cools the rooms without annoying draughts.
Like all other recent 'Sereni Orizzonti' constructions in the rest of Italy, this building also has cutting-edge features in terms of eco-sustainability and energy saving. Built in energy class A3, it will autonomously produce about 120,000 kWh of energy (equal to 60% of its entire requirements), with an overall reduction in atmospheric emissions of over 45,000 kg of carbon dioxide per year. This is a remarkable result achieved thanks to the photovoltaic system on the roof, the solar thermal system for sanitary use and heating, the thermodynamic recuperator of the heat contained in the exhaust air, and the high-efficiency heat pump that largely uses renewable energy.
