Spring is already in the air in Livorno: the Rsa 'I Girasoli' in Livorno wanted to honour an all-Tuscan tradition, born of fishermen who have always noticed the awakening of all sea creatures a month earlier than those living on land.

The guests of the residence wanted to celebrate the milder weather conditions of the last few days, in anticipation of celebrating the arrival of the equinox on 21 March. After showing some documentaries about the sea, each guest told their memories of this festive day when they were young.

"Spring is really just around the corner, and the bond between the people of Livorno and the sea has also made itself felt in our residence: the elderly are finally feeling the more pleasant temperatures, they can't wait to be outdoors" - said residence director Sabrina Bianchi - "This celebration linked to Livorno tradition is one of the very first initiatives that will make up our busy calendar of spring activities and projects".
