GRANDMA REGINA CELEBRATES 101 YEARS IN THE 'SAN GIUSEPPE' RETIREMENT HOME IN FOLLINA: SHE IS THE 'OLDEST' IN THE VILLAGE.

A happy milestone in Follina: Signora Regina Ruzzini has turned 101. And to celebrate her, a big party was held in the residence where she lives, the RSA 'San Giuseppe', managed by Sereni Orizzonti. For the occasion all the other guests and staff of the facility gathered to celebrate this anniversary with her.

The lady's birthday was the occasion to organise a party, full of joy and presents, which featured the over 100-year-old Regina, surrounded by the affection of her family.

Regina Ruzzini, born in 1922, in Susegana, is to date the oldest woman in the country. Married to Francesco from 1942 to 1987, she has two daughters, Diana and Carla, who recount an anecdote according to which her husband used to tell her: 'with the health you have, you will live more than 100 years'. And he was right. The lady worked many jobs in her life, including at the spinning mill in Ponte della Priula and the Curtolo nurseries in Conegliano. When she was 18 years old, she was chosen by architect Meneghin as a model for the Madonna of the church in Colfosco. A very active woman in the community, and very devout, she used to move around the village streets on her bicycle and loved socialising with her fellow citizens.

"These moments of celebration generate emotional and psychological benefits not only for the guests, but for all those who take part in them," - says Mario Modolo, general director of Sereni Orizzonti - "It is a way of expressing closeness to the people we care for every day and to the operators who carry out their work with passion: these are the moments that repay all the effort. Personally, I wish Mrs Regina all the best: it is an honour that the longest-serving lady in the town of Follina is a guest in one of our facilities!".
