An unusual Carnival party was organised by the Spinetta Marengo nursing home: on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Fabrizio de André's death, the residence decided to pay homage to him by representing characters from his songs as masks at their party.
The original idea came directly from the facility's entertainment staff: the guests chose the most suitable mask for them based on their personal tastes or characteristics. This is how "Princesa", "Carlo Martello", Don Raffae', Via del Campo, the Indians from "Smisurata preghiera", the General of the Sand Creek River, Mouth of a Rose, the Bomber and many others from the singer-songwriter's famous songs were born.
"The elderly paraded accompanied by the song they represented under the amused eyes of friends and relatives" - said residence director Tosca Vendramin - "The path to the identification and creation of the masks during the workshops was educational for those who knew little of De André's poetry and a rediscovery for those who have always loved it".
