The Cra 'Emilio Fontanella' in Rottofreno prepares for autumn.
The facility hosted the eagerly awaited October chestnut party, organised by the nursing home's operators and animators, together with the Associazione Alpini di S. Niccolò, who brought equipment for roasting chestnuts to the residence's garden.
The chestnuts were kindly offered to the retirement home by the '50&Più' Association of Piacenza. The guests thus spent a cheerful afternoon with relatives, while they watched the chestnuts being cooked live.
This was followed by a large raffle with prizes, organised by the facility's educational service: the Alpini had the honour of drawing and announcing the numbers.
For the occasion, the guests donated colourful drawings of chestnuts to the two associations, on which each of them left a dedication to thank them.
"Spending an afternoon of fun in the company of others is always appreciated by everyone, but the chestnut party made it even more special," said facility manager Sabrina Segalini. "I would like to thank all the staff, who day in and day out devote themselves with willingness and care to creating and maintaining a peaceful environment for our guests, and the two Associations who made it possible to organise this event, thus opening the autumn season of events that will be held in the coming months in our facility.
