"Add a place at the table, there's an extra friend"sang Johnny Dorelli. A motto that also inspired the Summer Festival organised at the senior citizens' residence 'I Germogli' in Menconico on 28 July. The idea of gathering the town's Alpine Group for a cheerful lunch open not only to families and guests of the facility, but to the entire townspeople, was much appreciated. An opportunity to spend a few pleasant hours in company, getting to know each other and being together, making the elderly of the facility the protagonists of an unusual and entertaining afternoon.
The numerous guests crowded the large dining room, which was festively set up and where the tricolour was the dominant motif to welcome the Black Pens. Between a forkful and a toast, which with the Alpini is never lacking, the risotto was the backdrop to the group songs and laughter that characterised the celebration. There was no shortage of tales of history and events from the past, which also recalled distant memories among the residence guests. A great way to keep the cognitive structure in training and keep the mind active in the guests of the Third Age.
A party with the Alpini is always a good idea, especially if it ends with enthusiasm and many empty pots. In general satisfaction, the managers and the elderly people of the Menconico residence are already preparing for the coming summer events. The activities organised in the Sereni orizzonti group's facilities are aimed at promoting the well-being of the elderly and providing a welcoming and pleasant environment.
