An important first meeting between the children of the Calice Ligure solar camp and the guests of the 'Villa Alfieri' residence for the elderly, managed by Sereni Orizzonti, has just ended.
The project aims to facilitate the relationship between the youngest and the adult generations through a series of fun activities for both children and elderly guests.
The event took place in the outdoor areas of the facility. The morning opened with a tasty snack for the children and grandparents, followed by many activities, including board games, card games and puzzles. The moments were very engaging: although very different in age, both generations enjoyed the playful moments.
"A useful exchange for the children, from which our guests also emerged enriched," says Ylenia Marenco, head of the animation service, "We are very happy to have realised this project. Often the real richness lies in stories, in life stories. Our guests are an inexhaustible source of anecdotes: very often it is these that remain impressed on the very young, allowing them to learn about the past and many fragments of our history. On the other hand, the presence of so many children brought a lot of joy to our guests, an important diversion".
After the games, there was time for reading, in which guests and children listened to some poems that were cheerful, but also thoughtful and with deep meaning. At the end, there was a special exchange of gifts: a poster made by the youngest children to decorate the walls of the facility, and to remind their grandparents of the moments spent together, and papier-mâché flowers, a small thought that the youngest children can take home as a memento of the day.
