HORSE-RIDING OUTING FOR THE GRANDPARENTS OF THE PIVERONE RETIREMENT HOME: A MEETING IN THE MIDST OF NATURE

After two years of extreme limitations caused by the pandemic, the guests of the 'Rapella' retirement home in Piverone took part in an out-of-town excursion: destination the Azeglio riding school, where the elderly guests and accompanying persons met and stroked the animals on the farm, including horses and dogs. The beautiful sunny day made the visit a complete success.

"The stay in the RSA leads many elderly people to social isolation, with the reduction of interactions, stimuli, visual, tactile, olfactory experiences," says Michelangelo Gambino, director of the facility, "This is why outings in the area are so important. It is often not easy to organise a trip for a group outing, but we have worked hard to make it happen. We chose a cosy environment: during the visit, many of our guests were taken back in time because they experienced rural life and some had horses. When they take care of the animal something special happens".
