The corridors of the Sicilian Geriatric Institute in Palermo were filled with colours, smiles and a lot of lightness thanks to the initiative of the 'Accendi Un Sorriso' association, which dedicated an entire day to the elderly guests of the facility managed by the Sereni Orizzonti group.
The stars of the day were the clowns Gnoccolo (Giovanni Perricone), Piperita (Rosa Moscato), Piccolone (Vincenzo Roccampo) and Melody (Irene Basso), who with their contagious energy gave life to comic sketches, magic and musical moments. An authentic clowntherapy show that involved not only the guests, but also the residence staff.
"Seeing our guests smile and participate enthusiastically was an immense joy," say the facility's animators. "These initiatives are a salve for the soul and fit perfectly into our programme of recreational and therapeutic activities. A heartfelt thank you to the volunteer clowns for providing such wonderful emotions."
