CHRISTMAS IS IN THE AIR AT THE SERENI ORIZZONTI NURSING HOME "IL POGGIO": GUESTS OPENED PRESENTS FROM "SANTA'S GRANDCHILDREN".

Christmas is just around the corner at the Rsa "Il Poggio" in S. Lazzaro di Savena. The first presents arrived at the facility from the "Grandchildren of Father Christmas", who delivered their gifts to the guests in person.

Once again this year, Sereni Orizzonti is supporting the 'Grandchildren of Father Christmas' Project, organised by the non-profit organisation Un Sorriso in Più Onlus, with more than 20 facilities. This project is made up of magical moments and unique emotions between the guests and the volunteers who grant their wishes.

Mr Ivo, 86, received two handwritten letters decorated with colourful stickers. The two 'granddaughters-in-law' gave him a Christmas tree.

For her 'colour wish', 89-year-old Germana found two sketchbooks, for painting landscapes, and a tin box full of coloured pencils.

A Granddaughter of Father Christmas then brought two beautiful poinsettias to Mrs Olexandra, 82, who is so fond of flowers that she has a terrace full of them.

Mrs Mirella, on the other hand, had asked for a puzzle week: two nephews brought her lots of magazines full of sudoku, puzzles, crosswords and other games.

"With the arrival of Christmas, moments of sharing are even more special. Participating in these initiatives gives our guests the opportunity to feel less alone, especially during the festive season. Together with the residence staff, we witness how much humanity there is in people. Other gifts continue to arrive for the guests, who are delighted to know that someone has thought of them. I would like to thank the entertainer Alessia Pamini, a very special creator of this wonderful initiative," said residence director Rosalia Giannotta.
