THE AURORA HOSPITAL IN COLLEFERRO ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE BREAST CANCER RACE

This is the first year that the RSA 'Aurora Hospital' of Colleferro participates in the "Race for the Cure, an event symbolising the fight against breast cancer, which took place in Rome, in the splendid setting of the Circus Maximus, from 4 to 7 May. The event is organised by Komen Italia and will continue in five other Italian cities: Bari, Bologna, Brescia, Naples and Matera.

"We felt it was important to join this event and some employees readily made themselves available," says Sara Maria Rini, RSA psychologist - "Participating in the solidarity marathon and seeing so many people united for a single purpose was exciting. We are proud to have offered our support to the association, every day we work in the field of healthcare, taking care of frail people and, for those who do this work, an interest in social issues is fundamental".

Participants took part in the traditional 2-kilometre walk and 5-kilometre runby parading with some posters. Thanks to the funds raised through the 'Race for the cure', Komen Italia will carry out activities to support women facing breast cancer, study awards for young researchers and free prevention days aimed at women in socially fragile conditions.
