TIME AND THE SOUL<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

His mind became confused. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

When I went to visit her, <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

no longer recognised me.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I was an outsider <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

happened to be in that room by mistake. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

And me, sitting next to her, <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I no longer knew what to say to her. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I watched her for hours <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

in silence under a clock <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

always marking the same moment.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

A winter morning <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I bent down to caress the hems <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

of his embroidered robe <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

shining in a sunbeam <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

filtered through the glass. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

\"What a beautiful dressing gown you have.\" <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I whispered under my breath, <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

with words on their lips<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

from who knows what forgotten corner <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

of time, of memories, of the soul. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

'It is such a delicate blue' <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I heard whispering. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

I looked up in surprise. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

But his mind was already rapt again <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

in the corners where the seasons were lost, <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

the memories, the sighs.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

For one shy word <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

the wall of silence had broken<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

with that emotion <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

that everything manages to revive <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

in this bitter, sweet life, <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

and that everything leads back to his awakening, <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

to an unexpected spark of light<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

in our inadvertent fall <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
